I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays!  I can't believe another year has already come and gone and we are into 2012!  I wanted to highlight a few things for 2012...

Registration for the Winter Singles League is going on now.  Teams have until Thurs., 1/5/12 to register at least 4 players.  Play will be mid-January through February.  Don't miss out on this opportunity to fine tune your singles game so you will be ready for the singles in the Spring League!  Look in the Downloads Center for additional dates.

Registration for the Spring League will open on Fri., 1/6/12.  Teams will have until Feb. 5th to register their initial rosters.  Look for the Spring Calendar in the Downloads center over the next few days.  In addition, I will post the Days of Play for both the men and women for the Spring League.

*This document is in the format of a Power Point Presentation and is great for captains.  It shows you step by step how to utilize a new feature on TennisLink.  Captains can have their players submit their availability for matches on TennisLink and then create line-ups based on availability.  If you plan to captain a 2012 team, please check this out ASAP!

I have made some changes to our local policies and regulations based on some changes made at the state level.  I am waiting on approval from the Neuse River Local League Committee and the North Carolina Tennis Association.  Once I have final approval on those two documents, I will download them as well.

Senior: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0

Super Senior 60: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0

Super Senior 70: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0

Just a few reminders about spring league tennis...

Feb. 1st (next Tues.) is the deadline to register the minimum number of players on a team (8 for adult teams; 6 for senior and super senior teams).

Feb. 10th (Thurs.) - Captain's Meeting will be held in Kinston at 6:30 at Fairfield Park Recreation Center (800 Greenbriar Road).  This is right off of Vernon Avenue, which basically runs parallel with Hwy 70 through the city.  A snack supper will be provided.

Please register, and get your players to register, on this website, www.myleaguetennis.com.  The site has a notification feature which will automatically send you an email whenever I post a new article on the site.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are now looking forward to playng tennis this year!

Registration for spring league (adult, senior & super senior) has opened.  You can go on TennisLink at any time to register a team.  Teams have until Feb. 1, 2011 to register the minimum number of players (8 for adult; 6 for senior and super senior).  Play may begin as early as Mar. 1, 2011.

There are several downloads now available on this website, including the 2011 Neuse River League Policies, Spring Tentative Days of Play (women and men), Spring Calendar, and New for 2011 Tennis, which includes the dates and locations of all the North Carolina State Championships.  To view these downloads, click on the "Downloads Center" above; then click on "2011"; and then "Neuse River".  I am waiting on the fnal approval of the 2011 Neuse River League Tennis Regulations from NCTA.  Once they are approved, I will download that document as well.

Here's your chance...the Neuse River is trying to form a Singles League to be played in Jan. and Feb. of 2011.  Don't delay - we need to move fast if we are going to get started in January.  I need to know the level of interest by Friday, Dec. 10th so I can get the league set up on TennisLink for registration.

Read below for more details:

* Singles Leagues play 3 lines of singles – same NTRP level for all lines.

* Teams need to have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 9 players registered.

* Singles League matches do NOT affect a player’s NTRP rating; therefore, this is a great time to practice singles without it affecting your rating.

* The local fee for the Singles League will be $15.

* Play will be during the months of January and February 2011.

* Official registration on TennisLink will need to begin on December 16^th, with play beginning around January 10, 2011.

* Please talk with other players from your club to see what teams can be formed!
